Reserve your spotUsing your Network ID, you can log into Atlas and use the Atlas checklists to guide you through important tasks you need to complete. To create your computing account, you’ll need your university ID number. We’ll send you an email with your university ID within two weeks of submitting your application.

The computing account and email account you’ll create in this step are different than the account you created to apply to IU. You must create an IU computing account and an IU email account.
If you have ever previously been enrolled in or participated in a program at any IU campus and were given a 10-digit university ID number or IU username, you will use the same ID number or username and follow these steps to set up your IU computing account.
If you’re an international student beginning your studies at IU in the fall, your intent to enroll form and $100 enrollment deposit is due by May 1 in order to reserve your spot. The deposit is nonrefundable and will be credited toward your first-semester expenses.

Most undergraduates are required to live on campus their first year. Living on campus is the best way to find a community of people and start making friends.
We recommend that you apply for housing as soon as the housing contract and application form are available on the Residential Programs and Services website—this is typically in February for the upcoming fall semester. Your housing preferences will be given priority based on the date your application is received.

All new students are required to attend orientation, which is where you will register for your first semester classes.

Incoming freshmen international students need to provide the official academic records they provided to complete their application and final secondary school transcripts no later than four weeks after the beginning of their first semester.
The transcript must include a seal or stamp indicating it came from the issuing body (we need to be able to verify the documents are official). All documents must be official and original—no photocopies or notarized copies.
If your secondary school is in the U.S. or Canada, the school must send the records directly to our office.
If you are in doubt, you can provide a sealed envelope from the issuing body or have the issuing body send the transcript directly to our office. If your final academic records were sent to you in a sealed envelope, you will need to keep them in the envelope for OIS to consider them official.
English translations must be provided for all non-English language documents.

If you have a disability, it’s important that you contact IU’s Disability Services for Students office so you can find out about accommodations available to you to help you perform at your best.
If you choose to defer your acceptance, you must still send us your final official high school transcript. You will also need to send any updated SAT and/or ACT scores, which should be sent directly from the testing agencies. Your application may be re-reviewed based on any new academic information.
You can defer your entry for up to one year; after one year has passed, you’ll need to reapply. If you take 12 or more credit hours at another institution during your year of deferment, you must reapply to IU Bloomington.
To defer, fill out the online deferral form in Atlas at least two weeks before the start of the term for which you originally applied.
