Fellowships and assistantships

If you are a graduate student, you may be able to secure a fellowship or assistantship through your department.

An assistantship is a paid position that requires you to teach or conduct research. A fellowship is an award of money that may or may not come with a work requirement.

Contact your school or department for details.

Hardship assistance

If you experience unexpected financial difficulty, we may be able to help you meet your basic needs depending on the situation. We can award typically between $500 and $2,000, depending on the need and the availability of funds.

We accept applications through the year on an ongoing basis. We typically make decisions within two weeks after receiving the application. We will apply any award to your Bursar account.

To apply, submit the form in Atlas.
